There will be a practice held at UM that will serve two purposes: 1) To practice the material and teach the band some new ones, 2) And to get to know the new guys (Dave the drummer and Antonio the bassist) a little better.
You'd best believe that shows will be booked soon afterwards.
Sorry I haven't updated in a while. This winter, along with the school semester that's just started, has been pretty hectic.
Here's some news:
*I have a limited number of CDs available for purchase. The price is still $5. If you wish to obtain one, please comment here or e-mail me (my e-mail address can be found on the website), and we'll arrange something.
*Evan and I are really working on the songwriting. As you may know, my influences lie heavily on 80's rock and hair metal. Evan, being from the jazz/jam band school of music, is getting a real crash course in what I'd like my music to me. So far, he's been picking it up, and we're coming up with some great stuff.
*A couple of new band members will be coming into the EMB soon: a drummer and a bass player. As soon as we can get a few practices in, and they learn the material, I'll be back on that stage.
*Until then, I'm keeping my pipes warm with karaoke. Next Tuesday, I will be at Gracie's Grill (at FIU) from about 9:30-11 PM. Hopefully, I'll be able to sing a couple of songs, and maybe I'll see you all there. If you are, or know any, FIU students who are interested in listening to me, meeting me, or buying a CD, be sure to come on down. I'll have a stack of CDs available for purchase...I may even convince the DJ to let me sing one of my own tracks!
Once again, thank you all for your support...I hope to see you soon.
As show dates are materializing, little by little, I think it is time to officially revamp and rekindle the mailing list. For all of you interested in receiving updates via e-mail (mostly show dates and reminders), please reply here with your e-mail address, and I will send you an invitation to become part of the Elisa Melendez e-mail group.
I know it's been a while, but now I come to you with a fresh update.
I had a great band practice with the EMB and wrote a couple of new ones. I'm looking forward to being on the stage with my guys and performing for all of you again.
I'm awaiting a batch of 30 CDs from our supplier. Unfortunately, this is the same 30 I've been waiting for since July. Do not fret, as I'm trying as hard as possible to find a more effective duplicator. For all of the support you have given me throughout the years, and for 5 bucks, you all deserve much more than a hand-placed paper label on a CD in a paper sleeve (those are reserved for the venues. Heehee.)
Be sure to check the website---I've been tweaking it here and there for the last couple of days.
As soon as I have any other news, and I mean ANY, you will be the first to know.
